A new direction for the NC economy

STATEWIDE–Matthew Szulik is chairman of Red Hat, an innovative software company in Raleigh. He was recently named “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2008 by Ernst and Young.

Szulik gave his thoughts on a new economic path for North Carolina to the Raleigh News and Observer on Sunday. That piece is here.

Here’s an excerpt:

In the past decade, approximately 600,000 jobs have left our state. We cannot let this financial storm blow any more paychecks out of North Carolinian hands. As citizens, we must demand new and innovative strategies from our elected officials. We must put North Carolinians back to work. Entrepreneurship is the change we can believe in.
