Fine Arts Museum at WCU: “Fragile Earth”, July–August 2008

“Fragile Earth” was an artistic response by 42 regional artists, working in a variety of media, to the beauty and vulnerability of the environment. The exhibit opened Sunday, July 13, as part of the Fine and Performing Arts inaugural Summer Arts Festival, which showcased the artistic and musical talent of residents of the state’s far western counties and the Qualla Boundary.

“The high quality of works submitted by recognized area artists, as well as from emerging artists, made for an exciting exhibit,” said Martin DeWitt, Fine Art Museum founding director.
