Opinion: Sylva Herald goes to bat for countywide middle school athletics teams

SYLVA-’s school system is organized so that there are, instead of middle schools, four kindergarten through eighth-grade feeder schools, and two high schools. As it stands, each of these schools fields junior high teams, which compete against each other.

Now, the county school board is considering the combination of the schools into a unified middle school athletics program, to compete regionally.

The Sylva Herald likes the idea.
